Room 5 's First Movie in 2009.

This is the first week of school in 2009 and we have made our first movie for this term.

New Kids In Town !!

Yes! It's a new term, new year and we have got new kids in town. Yes! We are the Little Voices, Little Scholars! And it is still Room 5 that we are talking about! The new year begins with a different group of children in Room 5. Our teacher is still Mrs She.

We will continue to publish our work using the various tools such as animoto,Flickr and Voice Thread etc. It will be exciting and rewarding for all of us. We hope you will continue to support our site through out the year!

The Year that Was--Room 5 2008 ( Part 4)

In the second term, we were learning about the things that can fly. ( UP, UP, AND AWAY). For the purpose of immersion, the students of Pt. England School had the opportunities of seeing a real hot air balloon. In the same week, a police helicopter also landed on our school rugby field. This was very beneficial to the children's learning as we saw a lot of good oral language and writings as a result of these events. We had recorded this event in a movie!

The Year that Was--Room 5 (Part 3)

Room 5 and other Year 1 students visited the zoo in March 2008. This event was very important because the students really had a fun time learning about the animals and a lot of good writing and oral language were generated as a result of this happy trip. In the second week of the first term, Harold and Bernie ( Life Education Caravan ) came to our school to teach the students how to be healthy and safe. We recorded this event in a movie!

It is absolutely necessary that we have to post this review due to the fact that this blog was only started in late September 2008 and most of the major events of Room 5 that occurred prior to the birth of this blog are not visible in this blog. We have hereby put together a summary of what happened prior to the creation of Little Voices, Little scholars.

First Term:
Room 5 were busy practising the Pt England School value which led us to become good Pt England students. At writing time, we write stories about how we use the value and we had made a movie to show what we had been up to. This movie is one of them.
