Art Attack movie by Class 18 at Pt England School.

This term, our topic is called " Art Attack " and is focused on visual arts. Class 18 have been learning to use crayons and dye as the mediums and they have created some very beautiful pictures of a cat. This movie shows how they did it. Enjoy!

Class 18 @Pt England School has started visiting the Life Education Caravan!

The Life Education Caravan has arrived at Pt England School. On Thursday, 24 July 2014, Class 18 had their first lesson. The Life Education Caravan is a mobile class classroom provided by the Life Education Trust. The Life Education Trust is " a charity that provides children with the knowledge to make informed choices about their health, respect others and learn to appreciate their uniqueness. " Class 18 will have a movie showing what they have learned really soon! So watch out for this space!

Class 18 at Pt England School are showing off their skills at Kiwi Sport!

" KiwiSport is a government funding initiative to promote sport for school-aged children. It was launched by the Prime Minister in August 2009."--Kiwi Sport NZ Class 18 like the rest of Pt England students are able to take part in this fun learning activities. Class 18 have been learning the basic skills of throwing, balancing, catching among many others. This slideshow shows the some of the highlights! Enjoy!

' I Like to Move it! Move it!

This Term, Pt England School's Inquiry Learning is called " I Like to move it! Move it! "  It's basically a science related topic including the principles of flight.  The Year 2 teachers went on stage to immerse the students with their act.  Enjoy!  Have a look and see if you can recognise someone!

Class 18 are learning the Ti Rakau Stick Game!

Class 18 had a lot of fun learning the Ti Rakau stick game which also came with a song.  It is a traditional game for the Maori People.
These games consist of the rhythmic throwing and catching of sticks from person to person. In the olden days, they were served as a way of training young warriors to catch enemies' spears in the battle.

Class 18 at the Duffy Theatre!

Recently, the Duffy Theatre came to visit Pt England School. Class 18 were there too. The Duffy theatre is run by a group of actors who travel the North Island in New Zealnad entertaining school children and are happy to be part of a programme that encourages kids to read.
