In the second term, we were learning about the things that can fly. ( UP, UP, AND AWAY). For the purpose of immersion, the students of Pt. England School had the opportunities of seeing a real hot air balloon. In the same week, a police helicopter also landed on our school rugby field. This was very beneficial to the children's learning as we saw a lot of good oral language and writings as a result of these events. We had recorded this event in a movie!
As part of the Literacy learning process, Mrs She's children over many years wrote stories and then drew pictures to illustrate their stories. This story writing was integrated with childrens' Inquiries. Children also recorded their stories in movies so that they could share them with the world. We are proud of this work.

Did you know that in Hamilton in the Waikato they have a famous balloon festival every year? I will take some photo's in 2009 and post them on my site!
Hi Guys,
Will you be continuing on with this blog in 09 or changing to a new site?
Hi Sue!
This blog will continue but there will be a different set of students in Room 5. Thanks for visiting and do continue to do so as soon as we start our new term.
Mrs She.
Wow! A hot air balloon? That's certainly something! I have rode in one before and it is certainly a thrill. I hope you have a happy new year!

Hello
I really like the way you've embedded these videos into your blog, but I am having some trouble with it and can't find the answer on edublogs. If you have a moment please email me at coroteacher@gmail.com thanks.
I can't wait to see more posts from this site in 2009! Well done with all your work and I look forward to seeing some more.
